Wisconsin football legend JJ Watt shares Augusta National golf round

The 2025 Masters Tournament concluded Sunday afternoon, with Northern Irish superstar Rory McIlroy claiming the Green Jacket after a playoff win over Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose.

It is McIlroy’s first Masters triumph, giving him the Career Grand Slam — major titles at the Masters, the U.S. Open, The Open and the PGA Championship. He joins a select group of legends Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, and Gary Player as the only players to accomplish that feat.

On the following Monday, winners of the media lottery are invited to play the iconic Augusta National golf course from the member tees, still in tournament conditions. Former Wisconsin defensive end and Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt was one of the lucky ones to get a tee time.

As shared on X, with a post that now has more than 1.1 million views, Watt shot a 103, just four strokes shy of breaking 100 on the world’s most famous course.

Watt enters the 2025 NFL season set for a larger role on CBS Sports’ broadcasting team. He is joining Ian Eagle on the network’s No. 2 gameday broadcast booth. The Wisconsin legend was previously a studio analyst for CBS’ NFL Today studio show. After just a few years in that position, he’s already rising within the profession.
