The Vikings and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah have overhauled this roster for the second straight offseason as they look to build off a special 2024 season.
In 2025, they will be looking for a new quarterback for the third straight year, but one who is going to be the future of the franchise. While they have all the pieces in place for J.J. McCarthy, there are a couple of positions that need a few extra pieces. While no position is truly weak, they could use some strength added to them.
Heading into round one of the 2025 NFL Draft, here is where we see their top three positional needs.
Interior Offensive Line
The Vikings added Colts center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries during free agency but they need another piece to complete their offensive line overhaul. They want the best protection possible for J.J. McCarthy in his first full year as a starter. He can’t use all the skill players they have around him unless his jersey is clean.
Cornerback
The team brought back Byron Murphy Jr., but he needs a tag team partner to pair with him. They acquired a couple of veterans to back him up in Isaiah Rodgers and Jeff Okudah, but they need a starter. They could target one in the first round, as that part of the draft is a prime spot for the Vikings to get a starter they need.
Defensive Lineman
The Vikings were active in free agency, signing Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave to go with Harrison Phillips. The issue is that none of them are reliable pass rushers in the middle of the Vikings’ defensive line. They need to add someone who can do that for the Vikings in 2025 and beyond.
