Blue Origin Crew Member Wears $325,000 Watch to All-women Space Flight

Film producer Kerianne Flynn brought a six-figure watch as her companion to Blue Origin’s first all-female space flight on Monday. She wore the Lady Arpels Planétarium timepiece from Van Cleef & Arpels’ Poetic Complications collection.

Available for 288,00 euros (approximately $325,000), the Lady Arpels Planétarium 38mm timepiece is crafted in rhodium-plated 18-karat white gold, adorned with round diamonds on the case, bezel and crown. Its deep blue aventurine dial features a miniature solar system with a pink gold sun at the center and the closest planets: Mercury in pink mother-of-pearl, Venus in green enamel, Earth in turquoise enamel, and a diamond representing the Moon, each orbiting at their actual speeds. A rhodium-plated white gold shooting star indicates the time as it sweeps across the dial.

The watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement with a 36-hour power reserve, developed in collaboration with Christiaan Van der Klaauw, and is finished with a sapphire case back and a blue sequined alligator strap secured by a diamond-set white gold pin buckle. The style is also available with a rhodium-plated 18-karat white gold strap with round diamonds for $340,000.
