Every prospect drafted at 45th overall in last 10 years

The Colts hold the 45th overall pick in this year’s NFL draft. Here is a look back at the last 10 selections at that draft slot.

The Indianapolis Colts will enter the 2025 NFL draft with seven selections in total, including the 45th overall pick in the second round.

Of course, previous picks at 45th overall by other teams have no bearing on who the Colts pick or how that selection turns out. But it is interesting to see the caliber of players that have come from this specific spot in the NFL draft in recent years.

As it pertains to the Colts, of course, what happens in the first round will impact how they approach the second round, but tight end, linebacker, the offensive line, and the defensive line are positions that could all be in play here.

Here are the last 10 selections to be taken at 45th overall in the NFL draft.

2024: Packers – LB Edgerrin Cooper

Cooper had a highly impactful rookie year for the Packers, which included being named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week twice and the NFC’s Rookie of the Month in December.

2023: Lions – S Brian Branch

Branch is a one-time Pro Bowler and has already become one of the better nickel defenders in the NFL. He’s generated 29 pass deflections and has seven interceptions.

2022: Ravens – DE David Ojabo

Ojabo appeared in only five total games in his first two NFL seasons, but played in 13 in 2024, totaling two sacks and two tackles for loss.

2021: Jaguars – OT Walker Little

Little has appeared in 55 games over his career, including 25 starts at tackle. The Jaguars signed him to a three-year extension late in the 2024 season.

2020: Buccaneers – S Antoine Winfield

Winfield has become one of the better safeties in the NFL. He’s made one Pro Bowl and been named to an All-Pro team as well.

2019: Patriots – CB Joejuan Williams

Williams spent just three years with the Patriots and did not appear in a regular-season game in 2024. He’s played in 42 games over his career with just one start.

2018: Packers – CB Josh Jackson

Jackson would spend only three years with the Packers before being let go. He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2022. Jackson appeared in 49 games in his career with 16 starts and had 12 pass breakups with no interceptions.

2017: Bears – TE Adam Shaheen

Shaheen played three seasons with the Bears and then two with Miami, but hasn’t played since 2021. In 55 career games, Shaeen caught 50 passes with seven touchdowns.

2016: Titans – RB Derrick Henry

Henry is a five-time Pro Bowler, an All-Pro, and was the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year. He’s still playing at a high level, rushing for nearly 2,000 yards last season.

2015: Vikings – LB Eric Kendricks

Kendricks is a one-time Pro Bowler and an All-Pro. He played with Minnesota from 2015 to 2022, was with the Chargers in 2023, and Dallas in 2024. Kendricks has made 142 starts over his career with 11 interceptions, 60 pass breakups, and 1,174 total tackles.
