Bears land a defensive steal at No. 10

The Chicago Bears are preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft, where they’re set to make a Top-10 selection for the third straight year. And there will be a wealth of talent for them to choose from at 10th overall.

It’s been an impactful offseason for Chicago, who hired Ben Johnson as head coach and shored up their biggest needs along the offensive and defensive trenches. Now, they have flexibility when it comes to how they approach the draft, specifically that first selection.

NFL.com’s Adam Rank is taking a different approach in his latest mock draft, where he’s making selections based on what each team should do in the first round. And it certainly works out in the Bears’ favor in this scenario as they’re able to land Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at 10th overall.

Widely mocked in the top five, Graham could go as early as No. 3 overall, if the Giants choose to build in the trenches. But if he fell this far, he’d be the perfect pick for you, Chicago — he looks like he was born to be a Bear. He, Grady Jarrett and Andrew Billings could join to form the best defensive line rotation in the NFL. Note that I didn’t insult Braxton Jones, whom I love as a Bears fan, by giving you tackle Will Campbell. With two picks early in the second round (Nos. 39 and 41), there is time to add O-line depth.

Graham is the best defensive tackle in this draft class, and he’s a sure-fire Top 10 pick — heck, even Top 5 selection. He’s a force as an interior pass rusher and would be a game wrecker in the middle of this Chicago defense. Last season with Michigan, Graham totaled 45 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and one pass breakup in 12 games.

Realistically, Graham will be long gone before Chicago’s selection at 10th overall. There’s a better chance of the Bears landing his Wolverines teammate Kenneth Grant at this point. But that’s the fun of mock draft season. We’re all just guessing and playing with different scenarios. We won’t really know the direction each team is going until draft night when chaos may ensue.
