The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Nailed Spring Simplicity

Spring fashion is all about shedding winter’s hefty layers—and this week’s best dressed stars embraced the season’s mood of ease and simplicity. On the red carpets (and the streets), A-listers such as Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, and Blake Lively slipped into designs that were sophisticated and unfussy. Though the silhouettes were subdued, that didn’t mean they didn’t shine—in fact, the end result was quite the opposite, proving that a refined frock can turn heads without having to scream from the rooftops.

Take Daisy Edgar-Jones in her white Khaite gown, worn to the premiere of On Swift Horses in New York City. Thanks to a ruched and draped waistline, the column dress instantly felt fresh and modern—though still extremely clean and minimal. Ditto for Blake Lively and her leather David Koma coat dress, worn to the premiere of Another Simple Favor in London: The swishy car-wash hem made the streamlined piece feel instantly red carpet-worthy.

Even the week’s bolder pieces were styled in a simple, pared-back way. Anne Hathaway, for one, attended the fall 2025 Ralph Lauren show in New York wearing a pair of ripped sequin jeans from the label—yet she styled it with a white tank and khaki trench, making it feel effortless. In Santa Monica, Rihanna also styled a bold fur scarf with a Canadian tuxedo—making it feel as nonchalant as, say, a pair of sneakers. That’s the power of Rihanna: She can make anything seem extremely wearable.
