Though the silhouettes were subdued, that didn’t mean they didn’t shine—in fact, the end result was quite the opposite, proving that a refined frock can turn heads without having to scream from the rooftops.

Thanks to a ruched and draped waistline, the column dress instantly felt fresh and modern—though still extremely clean and minimal. Anne Hathaway, for one, attended the fall 2025 Ralph Lauren show in New York wearing a pair of ripped sequin jeans from the label—yet she styled it with a white tank and khaki trench, making it feel effortless. In Santa Monica, Rihanna also styled a bold fur scarf with a Canadian tuxedo—making it feel as nonchalant as, say, a pair of sneakers. That’s the power of Rihanna: She can make anything seem extremely wearable.
