Kristen Stewart Marries Dylan Meyer in an Intimate L.A. Ceremony

That noise you hear? It’s wedding bells—and, also, possibly the sound of lesbians around the world weeping and rending their garments because Kristen Stewart is officially off the market. Stewart wed her longtime partner, screenwriter Dylan Meyer, at home in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 20, in front of what People described as “an intimate group of loved ones—including Ashley Benson and her husband Brandon Davis “after getting their marriage license at the local courthouse.” (The news was first reported by TMZ.) Honestly, if there’s a better way to celebrate Easter Sunday than with a lesbian wedding, I don’t personally know it.

Stewart and Meyer met on the set of the movie American Ultra in 2019 and got engaged in 2021, with Stewart telling Howard Stern at the time: “I wanted to be proposed to. So I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and, you know, she nailed it. It was really cute. She did very well and—we’re marrying. It’s happening.” Aw, and now it’s happened! As someone with vivid memories of Stewart’s romantic life being tabloid fodder back in the Twilight days, I kind of love the fact that this is one of the only comments Stewart has made about her plans to wed Meyer.

While I desperately want all the details of Stewart and Meyer’s wedding (for example, what did they wear?) to affix to my mental Pinterest board, I have to say that there’s something extremely classy and cool about doing a small wedding at home surrounded solely by people you actually want to be there. Obviously, the virtues of a big wedding speak for themselves—it’s fun, it’s convivial, you get a ton of attention. But Stewart is a notably private person, and to be honest, we don’t even know that much about her and Meyer’s relationship, so why would we expect all the details about their nuptials? Mazel tov, queens!
