Mytheresa finalizes Yoox Net-a-Porter acquisition
On Thursday, Mytheresa has finalized its acquisition of Yoox Net-a-Porter (YNAP) from Richemont, through its subsidiary Richemont Italia Holding S.P.A. Mytheresa is now YNAP’s sole shareholder. In exchange for all shares of YNAP and a net cash position of €555 million (about $631.8 million) and no financial debt, Richemont has received 49,741,342 shares in Mytheresa, representing 33% of Mytheresa’s fully diluted share capital post issuance of the consideration shares. {Mytheresa}

Bi-annual magazine HommeGirls opened its first retail location in New York City on Thursday. Based in Chinatown, the store offers visitors the opportunity to shop HommeGirls‘ latest ready-to-wear clothing and accessories, including its classic striped button-up shirts, boxers, sleek trench coats and tube socks, alongside its print issues. The store was designed by Rafael de Cárdenas, Ltd., and features a dry cleaner’s rack rotating in the center of the space. HommeGirls‘ store is located at 112 Walker St. and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. {Fashionista inbox}
Phoebe Gates launches online shopping tool Phia
Phoebe Gates, the youngest of Bill and Melinda Gates’ children, teamed up with her former Stanford roommate Sophia Kianni to launch Phia, an online shopping tool that instantly compares prices from thousands of e-commerce sites for any item. In a profile written by Vanessa Friedman in The New York Times, Gates recognizes that people will assume her name is how she and Kianni got access to the venture capital firm backing them and met their angel investors and mentors Kris Jenner, Sara Blakely of Spanx and Joanne Bradford, the former president of Honey. {The New York Times/paywalled}
Kering’s group revenue drops 14% in Q1
Kering, which houses Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta, released its first-quarter revenue report on Wednesday. Group revenue amounted to €3.9 billion ($4.4 billion) in 2025’s first quarter, down 14% both as reported and on a comparable basis. Sales from the directly operated retail network fell by 16% on a comparable basis, while wholesale and other revenue was down 9%. Gucci’s performance especially dragged, with the Italian luxury house’s revenue amounting to €1.6 billion ($1.8 billion), down 24% as reported and down 25% on a comparable basis. {Kering}
Unilever’s Q1 sales rise 3%
In Unilever’s first quarter 2025 results, the conglomerate saw 3% underlying sales growth, with volume growth of 1.3% and price of 1.7%. Unilever CEO Fernando Fernandez attributed this growth to “the strength of our increasingly premium and innovation-led portfolio in developed markets.” Its Beauty & Wellbeing sector grew underlying sales by 4.1%, with volume growth of 2.5% and price of 1.5%.
