Julien’s Auctions to hold largest sale of Princess Diana’s wardrobe

Julien’s Auctions is holding “Princess Diana’s Style & A Royal Collection,” the largest-ever auction of Princess Diana’s fashion with a collection of more than 200 pieces, on Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. The auction will also feature rare pieces from British royal history, including couture garments from the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and historic items belonging to Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother and royal treasures dating back to the 19th century. Badgley Mischka acquired in a new joint venture

Established Incorporated has teamed up with ACI Licensing in a strategic joint venture to acquire Badgley Mischka, Rachel Rachel Roy, C&C California and Kay Unger. Financial terms of the deal are not being revealed. Established will maintain 51% of the ownership and ACI Licensing will hold 49% of the joint venture. The joint venture has secured complete ownership of the Badgley Mischka, C&C California and Kay Unger intellectual property, and a 71% stake in the Rachel Rachel Roy brand. {WWD/paywalled}

Coty to cut 700 jobs in cost-saving initiative

On Thursday, Coty announced that it would cut around 700 jobs across the globe (about 5% of its total workforce) as part of an enhanced cost-cutting initiative. Coty’s CEO Sue Nabi cited tariff regulations, a new geopolitical landscape and shifting consumer behavior as factors impacting the decision in an internal email seen by The Business of Beauty. Rare Beauty to host fourth annual Mental Health Summit

Rare Beauty is hosting its fourth annual Mental Health Summit on May 1 in Los Angeles. The summit is a one-day event in downtown L.A. that plans to welcome about 175 guests for interactive conversations around self-acceptance and mental health, including a closing fireside chat with British life coach and podcaster Jay Shetty. To date, more than $20 million has been raised for the Rare Impact Fund, Rare Beauty’s nonprofit affiliate working to expand mental health awareness. {WWD/paywalled}

Elie Tahari sets his succession plan

Elie Tahari, the 73-year-old Iranian designer and founder of his eponymous fashion brand, is turning over his $1 billion company to his son, Jeremey Tahari. Jeremey, who has worked alongside his father since he was 16 and launched streetwear brand Anti, will lead the Elie Tahari brand as CEO and creative director. Elie will stay on as chairman and will still have a role in designing the Elie Tahari Collection, the company’s luxury line that split off from the Tahari brand in 2018. {Vogue Business/paywalled}
