Butter yellow? Kendall Jenner doesn’t know her.
The model joined the throngs of Angelenos who flooded the 10 freeway ahead of the first weekend of Coachella. But it’s never just play for Jenner, who spent the first night of the festival hosting a Coachella kickoff party on behalf of FWRD, of which she serves as creative director.
Jenner opted for a light colored dress for the occasion, but you’d be sorely mistaken if you think she’s paying any mind to the so-called color of the season, butter yellow. No, she instead opted for a khaki hued cowl neck dress—in the aptly named shade “sand”—from the Danish brand Tove’s resort 2025 collection. While the bias-cut silk dress with funky twisted seams along the skirt could work for day or night, she styled it for an evening in the desert with accessories from—who else—but The Row. Turning to her favorite label, Jenner wore a pair of the brand’s Vika sandals, nude, open-toe kitten heels complete with an ankle strap (and pulled straight from her “Kendall’s Edit” on FWRD), and carried a boxy light brown clutch with gold hardware.
The look is a somewhat surprising diversion from the Kendall Jenner School of Dressing. While she tends to stick to a winter-friendly color palette of neutrals with the occasional bold hue like fire engine red or royal blue, she was willing to make the exception for this sand-colored dress. After all, as the saying goes, “When in Coachella Valley…”
