Duran Lantink wins 2025 International Woolmark Prize

Designer Duran Lantink won the 2025 International Woolmark Prize, which includes a cash prize of AUD $300,000 (about $191,217 USD) to invest in the development of his business. Pieter Mulier and Südwolle Group were also announced as the winners of the Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation and the Supply Chain Award, respectively. The International Woolmark Prize celebrates the versatility and renewable nature of Merino wool. This year, the prize was artistically directed by IB Kamara to be centered around the sun to symbolize energy, renewal and connection to nature. An expert panel of judges chaired by Donatella Versace and including Kamara, Law Roach, Alessandro Sartorti, Tim Blanks, Sinéad Burke, Honey Dijon, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Simone Marchetti, Roopal Patel and Danielle Goldberg selected this year’s winner. {Fashionista inbox}

Trump’s tariffs rock fashion’s supply chain

Donald Trump announced the highest and most comprehensive tariffs in nearly a century on Wednesday, including a 46% tariff for Vietnam, 49% for Cambodia and 37% for Bangladesh. Vietnam is the second-biggest apparel exporter to the U.S. after China. China will be subject to a new 34% tariff on top of the previously announced duties, raising its tariff rate to 54%. The EU will be hit with a 20% duty. Fashion stocks immediately plunged in after-hours trading, with Lululemon shares dropping more than 10%, Nike’s and Ralph Lauren’s falling 7% and Tapestry, Capri and PVH Corp. down around 5%. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}

& Other Stories appoints new CCO

Jonathan Saunders is the new chief creative officer (CCO) for & Other Stories, effective in the first half of 2025. In this newly created role, Saunders will lead the brand’s creative direction across all touchpoints. Saunders, a British designer who founded his own eponymous label, has previously worked as CCO at Diane von Furstenberg and creative director of Pollini. He has also consulted for Calvin Klein, Tiffany & Co., Chloé, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Pucci and Marc Jacobs. {H&M Group}

Oura to sell on QVC

Fitness and health-tracking ring Oura is making its QVC debut on Thursday. Oura has been in talks with QVC for about two years, and now it is experimenting with live shopping as it seeks to gain awareness in middle America and with female shoppers. Oura has a healthy TikTok presence and has invested in paid advertising on the platform, but the brand chose to explore live shopping with QVC due to its format where brands can offer consumers a deeper dive into their products. {Modern Retail/paywalled}
