The New York Liberty extended their historic start to 9-0 Tuesday night with an 85-66 victory over the Chicago Sky at Barclays Center.
Sabrina Ionescu poured in 23 points, dished seven assists and corralled four steals, while Breanna Stewart chipped in 18 points and seven rebounds.
Chicago’s Angel Reese turned in a season-high 17 points and hauled in 11 rebounds, but the Sky never threatened, falling to 2-6 on the season.
Shortly after the final buzzer, the Sky shared a postgame clip that featured Reese meeting and taking pictures with Vanessa Bryant and her family.
The post was captioned, “ran into some friends🥹🥹🥹.”

A 2-6 record leaves them fifth in the East and just two games away from the bottom of the WNBA standings.
Reese’s 12.1 rebounds per game pace the WNBA, but her 35.8% shooting clip underscores the offensive challenges the Sky face.
As a team, Chicago ranks second last in the league in points per game (77.4), behind only the 2-7 Connecticut Sun.
The Sky will now home to bounce back on the road against the 6-3 Atlanta Dream on Friday.
