Winger backed by Hansi Flick ready to lower salary for Barcelona move

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Ivan Perisic is patiently waiting for Barcelona to make a move, even if it means accepting a reduced salary.

The Croatian winger, currently a free agent, is keeping his options open but has made it clear that his priority is a switch to Camp Nou this summer.

Luis Diaz, Marcus Rashford, Nico Williams, and Ivan Perisic are among the players being considered. Each player has their strengths and drawbacks.

In Perisic’s case, the main concern is his age. At 36, he is not seen as a long-term solution. However, the fact that he would arrive on a free transfer gives him an edge, especially given Barcelona’s ongoing financial struggles.

The German manager worked with Perisic during their successful time together at Bayern Munich and values his experience, versatility, and strong mentality.

Flick believes Perisic can add depth and maturity to the squad, both in the dressing room and on the pitch.

Despite receiving a two-year offer from PSV, Perisic has not made any decisions yet. The Croatian international is fully focused on making it to the 2026 World Cup in top form and sees Barcelona as the perfect platform to stay at the highest level.

This is why he is willing to accept a lower wage than he might get elsewhere.

With Barcelona still weighing up their options, the ball is now in their court. If they decide to go for a short-term, low-cost winger who already has the manager’s backing, Perisic could soon be wearing the Blaugrana shirt.
