The Michigan Wolverines won the 2023-24 National Championship on the strength of the dynamic duo of JJ McCarthy and Blake Corum, along with backup running back Donovan Edwards.
The McCarthy-Corum duo never lost a game on the football field during their time with Jim Harbaugh’s team in Ann Arbor and were the driving force behind three consecutive Big Ten Championships.
This season, the Wolverines’ most highly touted prospect, five-star QB Bryce Underwood, is expected to make his Michigan debut.
With Underwood behind center, the Wolverines will look to surround him with the highest level of running back talent possible in hopes of recreating what they had under Harbaugh.
One future teammate of Underwood’s could be the nation’s top running back recruit, Savion Hiter, who turned heads with a photo of the Wolverines freshman on Monday.
“Thank you @UMichFootball for having my family and I this weekend it was an aMaizing official visit #GoBlue,” Hiter wrote on X.
He tagged Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and running backs coach Tony Alford, also sharing a photo of himself and Underwood with Underwood in a handoff motion.

“This (expletive) goes so hard, you were born to rock the winged helmet!!” another added.
“You and Bryce Underwood16 are going to dominate CFB!!!” another said.
Ohio State fans also called for his commitment in the comments section.
Hiter is a five-star high school prospect from Mineral, Virginia, ranked as the best in the nation for the Class of 2026. He counts offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and the hometown Virginia Cavaliers among other top schools.
