Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin sets conditions for transfer amid Manchester United interest

Manchester United target Andriy Lunin is reluctant to leave Real Madrid this summer, as per reports.

United might be spending a big chunk of their transfer budget this summer on strengthening their attack, but the club’s hierarchy remain keen on addressing their goalkeeping department as well.

Andre Onana has failed to convince Ruben Amorim that he is good enough to keep his place as the side’s number one after delivering several horror shows.

Multiple reports have suggested United could make a major change between the sticks should the opportunity arise.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United held talks with Jorge Mendes over a possible deal for Lunin. It was suggested the Red Devils are ready to pay around €15 million for the Ukrainian.

Now, Marca report that Lunin’s desire is to continue at Santiago Bernabeu despite interest from several clubs.

The 26-year-old is “very comfortable” in Madrid and is understood to be excited to be part of Xabi Alonso’s project despite facing strong competition from Thibaut Courtois for the starting spot at the club.

However, the Spanish publication state that Lunin is open to changing his mind should he receive an “irresistible offer” from a “top-tier European club” that would guarantee him an undisputed starter role.

United might be able to offer Lunin the same but only if they manage to part ways with Onana this summer.

The Cameroonian has attracted interest from AS Monaco but his wage demands are allegedly proving to be a stumbling block.

Should United fail to sell Onana, they are unlikely to be in a position to meet his and Real’s financial demands and offer the shot-stopper the starting spot at Old Trafford.

At this point, Lunin is expected to remain at Real where he is tied down to a contract until the summer of 2030.
