John Cena’s Wife Shay Shariatzadeh Wears Clear Alaïa Mules in London

Shay Shariatzadeh joined husband John Cena for the UK special screening of “Heads of State” in London on Tuesday, stepping into Alaïa’s Le Cœur Mules — a barely-there heel that continues to emerge as a high-gloss staple on red carpets this summer.

Held at BFI Southbank, Shariatzadeh coordinated with her husband in a strapless black mini dress with a sculptural white bow across the front and rhinestone-trimmed spaghetti straps. Her heels, Alaïa’s Le Cœur Mules in black patent calfskin, added a clean, architectural finish to the look.

The pointed-toe shoes feature clear polyurethane panels at the sides and vamp, giving the illusion of floating across the foot. At the center, the brand’s signature heart-shaped cutout lends a subtle, romantic curve to the silhouette.

Cena wore a pinstriped three-piece suit with glossy black oxfords, continuing the formal palette he embraced earlier in the day at the film’s photocall. Together, the couple offered two complementary takes on streamlined event dressing — his classic men’s dress shoes, hers sculptural and light on its feet.

Shariatzadeh’s shoes reflect a growing fashion movement toward transparent-panel footwear. It’s a style that’s resurfaced across silhouettes this season: Gianvito Rossi’s Elle mules, for example, have recently been worn by Khloé Kardashian in Venice as she arrived for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding, while La La Anthony took the trend to Brooklyn in June in a curved transparent pump with a flared heel.

Though transparent footwear has cycled through fashion over the decades, its current wave of popularity stems from subtle refinements in design — clear panels paired with pointed toes, neutral leathers or exaggerated vamp cuts. The trend parallels summer’s barely-there footwear moment, including the rise of crochet and mesh ballet flats from brands like Alaïa, Simone Rocha and The Row, which have gained traction among fashion insiders this season.

Their appearance followed other London promotional events for “Heads of State,” where Priyanka Chopra Jonas opted for The Row’s Vika sandals, a low-heeled, asymmetrical silhouette that has become a summertime staple for the actress.
