Chicago Sky Send Angel Reese Message Loud and Clear

Even with the frequent negativity surrounding her this season, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has still been able to shine.

The second-year forward out of LSU was announced as a WNBA All-Star Game reserve on Sunday, making it the second time in her young career that she was viewed as being among the best players in the league.

Hours after her selection, Reese and her Sky squad took on the WNBA’s top team, the Minnesota Lynx.

As if there were any questions that Reese has drastically improved this season offensively, or that she was an All-Star caliber player, a sequence against the MVP frontrunner, Napheesa Collier, likely answered those.

Early in the first quarter, with the Sky trailing 6-5, Reese showcased both her footwork and handles as she was able to work her way from the top of the arc to the point, setting up a hook shot in the paint.

It was a move that the Sky clearly loved, writing, “Another tough two for All Star Barbie.”

By the time halftime rolled around, Reese found herself on triple-double watch.

Through her first 19 minutes of action, Reese racked up eight points, seven rebounds and five assists. If she were to secure a triple-double, it’d be the second of her young career, securing her first this past month.

At halftime, the Sky had some work to do, trailing 39-38.

As for Reese, even if she doesn’t secure a triple-double, she is on track to record a fifth-straight double-double. If she and the Sky take down the Lynx, it’d be their first home loss of the year as they came into Sunday with a 10-0 record.
