Luis Diaz has given the green light to a move to Bayern Munich this summer, according to reports in Germany, as the Colombian winger edges closer to a potential departure from Liverpool.

The Bundesliga giants are said to have made Diaz their top target for the left-wing position, with German outlet Bild claiming the 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms and expressed a willingness to join.

Bayern have yet to open formal talks with Liverpool, who have thus far maintained that the Colombian is not for sale. However, the forward’s openness to the move may accelerate developments in the coming weeks.

Diaz enjoyed his best season at Anfield last term, registering 17 goals and eight assists across all competitions. Despite a productive campaign under Arne Slot, speculation over his future has persisted.

Barcelona and Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr have already made approaches, with the latter preparing a bid in the region of £73 million. Liverpool turned those efforts away, insisting they want to keep the former Porto man.

Still, Bayern’s interest appears serious. The German champions are targeting reinforcements after Jamal Musiala’s injury at the Club World Cup, and Diaz has emerged as the standout name on their shortlist.

No fee has yet been agreed, but reports suggest Bayern are prepared to meet Liverpool’s valuation of around €70 million. Add-ons could play a role in shaping any eventual deal.

For now, the Merseyside club’s focus remains elsewhere as they continue to mourn the tragic passing of forward Diogo Jota, who died last week aged just 28.

Diaz, speaking in Colombia this week, paid an emotional tribute to his teammate and friend. He described Jota as someone who made his arrival in England easier and spoke of the deep pain shared by the squad.

The Colombian’s moving comments underlined how difficult the current atmosphere at Liverpool is, with the players preparing for pre-season amid grief and disbelief.

In such a climate, transfer talk has felt secondary. However, the window continues to move and Liverpool may yet have decisions to make, particularly if Bayern return with a formal offer.

Diaz remains a Liverpool player for now, but the growing momentum behind a Bayern move suggests a major development could be on the horizon.
