The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Next up is offensive lineman OL Hayden Conner.
Hayden Conner background, 2024 season
Conner is a rookie. He was drafted out of Texas by the Cardinals in the sixth round this year. He was the Longhorns’ starting left guard for the last three seasons, starting 43 games over those three seasons. He is moderately athletic but is hard-working, durable and consistent.
Hayden Conner 2025 contract details, cap hit
Conner signed his four-year rookie contract worth almost $4.4 million with a signing bonus of a little more than $174,000. He will make $840,000 in salary and count more than $883,000 against the cap.
Questions he faces, roster outlook
Conner must prove he can adjust to the NFL game and that he is athletic enough to play in the NFL. He won’t be battling for a starting job, as Evan Brown and Isaiah Adams have those spots locked down at the moment.
He will battle for one of the final roster spots. He is firmly on the roster bubble and might end up on the practice squad.
