Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made sure to show her support for teammate Lexie Hull before the WNBA 3-Point Contest.
Clark was supposed to participate in the highly anticipated event as part of the All-Star 2025 in Indianapolis. However, a groin injury she suffered against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday forced her to sit out the festivities, including the All-Star Game.
As a result, the WNBA tapped Hull to replace Clark in the shooting competition, with the announcement made early Friday morning — roughly 12 hours before the event.
After Hull was confirmed as Clark’s replacement, the All-Star playmaker quickly took to her Instagram Stories to cheer for her teammate. Just before the 3-Point Contest started as well, Clark once again showed her love for Hull.
“My queen,” Clark wrote while tagging Hull and sharing a photo of the participants just minutes before it kicked off.

In the 3-Point Contest, Lexie Hull was up against Sonia Citron of the Washington Mystics, Kelsey Plum of the Los Angeles Sparks, Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty.
Hull is the Fever’s best 3-point shooter in terms of shooting percentage (46.8%), so it’s no surprise that she was selected to replace Clark and represent the Fever and the city of Indianapolis.
Unfortunately, Hull failed to move past the first round of the shootout after finishing with 20 points. Gray and Ionescu had 25 points each to move into the final round, while Plum had 22. Citron finished last with 19 points.
Who replaced Caitlin Clark in the All-Star game?
As mentioned, Clark has also opted not to play in the All-Star Game because of her groin injury. While Hull took her place in the All-Star 3-point shootout, Mystics guard Brittney Sykes was selected to fill in for her in the All-Star Game.
Clark, however, promised to be active during the festivities. Her All-Star coach, Sandy Brondello, also hinted that the guard would be present on the bench when they play in the All-Star Game. Clark is the captain of her team.
