đŸŽ„ Viktor Gyökeres meets new Arsenal team-mates for the first time

Arsenal have shared a heartwarming glimpse of new signing Viktor Gyökeres meeting his teammates for the first time, as the Swedish striker was welcomed into the squad during the club’s pre-season tour in Hong Kong.

In a short video posted on Arsenal’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, the club captioned the clip: “Welcome to the family man.”

The one-minute footage shows Gyökeres exchanging handshakes and smiles with several Arsenal players, including a lighthearted moment with captain Martin Ødegaard, as the two Scandinavians greet each other in their native languages — Norwegian and Swedish.

Supporters were quick to respond online, with a wave of excitement and affection. One fan wrote, “Welcome to the best club in the world, Gyökeres,” while another commented, “Look at me smiling like a clown here,” capturing the buzz among Arsenal’s global fanbase.

A particularly well-noticed moment saw Declan Rice call Gyökeres “my guy”, prompting reactions about the developing camaraderie within the squad. Others joked about Kai Havertz asking the new arrival whether he was happy, while many fans noted the absence of Gabriel MagalhĂŁes from the meeting.

Gyökeres, 27, joins as Mikel Arteta’s new attacking spearhead, expected to compete for the central striker role as Arsenal prepare for another push in the Premier League and Champions League.

With his first steps as a Gunner coming on the other side of the world, Arsenal fans will be hoping Gyökeres makes his mark quickly — in Asia now, and in England soon.
