Cowboys trade pitch pairs PSU's Micah Parsons with Michigan's Jim Harbaugh

Jim Harbaugh

If there's one thing for certain, and Micah Parsons understood that when he was at Penn State, it's that Jim Harbaugh is always going to have an above-average defense.

Harbaugh took a job with the Los Angeles Chargers last offseason, and the team impressed during his first season at the helm.

While the Chargers are still a few pieces away, it's possible that the former Penn State star could land with his ex-Big Ten rival and play together in Los Angeles. Bleacher Report recently proposed a trade idea for the Dallas Cowboys to send Parsons there, with the deal involving multiple picks.

Chargers get: Micah Parsons, 2027 4th-round pick

Cowboys get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2026 2nd-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, 2027 5th-round pick, RB Najee Harris

“The Los Angeles Chargers, presumably, are looking to continue trending upward under new head coach Jim Harbaugh. L.A. saw a six-win improvement last season while fielding the league's No. 1 scoring defense…

“Parsons, meanwhile, would help L.A.'s already impressive defense be even better, potentially for longer. While the Chargers still have a good pass-rusher in Joey Bosa, he's 30 and set to play on a one-year deal,” Kristopher Knox wrote.

There's some intrigue in this scenario, as the Cowboys would also be getting an above-average running back in return. However, it's very unlikely that they want to make this trade, as Parsons is so much more valuable than whatever Najee Harris is at this point in his career.

Still, if the idea is to trade Parsons, the Cowboys have to do what's best, and if they believe this package would be that, it's possible it could happen.
