You can’t deny the cozy allure of pull-on trousers and black leggings, but how about a happy medium? Our editors have found theirs in the most comfortable jeans—pants that are both practical and polished. Gone are the days when jeans may be shrugged off as too casual; in fact, our fashion editors regularly sport them around the Vogue offices. After all, what beats a classic outfit completed by an effortlessly cool pair of jeans? And because fashion editors are notorious for having large denim collections, we asked a handful of our stylish colleagues to share their favorite ones. More specifically, the most comfortable jeans in their wardrobes.

Both sit lower on the hips which I find less restrictive and easier to style, and mostly importantly, the hems skim the floor without ever touching it. For a tapered fit that looks refreshingly modern, I like Citizens of Humanity’s Winslow. For something wider and more relaxed, Agolde’s Arc is my platonic ideal.
