Sean Brady ‘unfortunately’ picks Ian Machado Garry over Carlos Prates

Despite his dislike for Ian Machado Garry, Sean Brady remained impartial in his prediction for the UFC on ESPN 66 headliner.

Machado Garry (15-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) takes on Carlos Prates (21-6 MMA, 4-0 UFC) in Saturday’s main event (ESPN2, ESPN+) at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Brady (18-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) has been trading barbs with Machado Garry, recently mocking him for claiming that he should have gotten the UFC 315 title shot after losing to Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310. Beef aside, Brady sees Machado Garry beating surging contender Prates.

“Unfortunately, I’m going to pick Ian to win this fight,” Brady said on his “The BradyBagz Show.” “Ian has more ways to win than Carlos does. Obviously Carlos could probably knock him out. Ian knows how to win. He’ll probably (strike) and f*cking run.”

Machado Garry fired back at Brady by calling him boring. Brady, who’s coming off a dominant submission of Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 255, is willing to settle the score with Machado Garry if one particular scenario pans out.

“He wasn’t talking about my fighting style, he said I’m a boring person,” Brady said. “The funny thing is, I took a gander at Ian Garry’s record. Ian Garry has two (three) finishes in the UFC, but he has one bonus. He lost his last fight, fights before that were all split decisions. This guy talks about how like he’s the best fighter – you’re not. The only reason people talk about you is you do stupid sh*t online outside.

“They’re not talking about your fighting, they’re not talking about how good your fighting is. …At the end of the day, if he wins this fight, and – 155 is just like 170, everyone swears they’re going to get a title shot. If the UFC tells me I’m not getting the next title shot, and I’m not getting Shavkat, and Ian wins this fight, me and you can fight, and then whoever wins that can get the title shot.”
