Barbara Palvin Doubles Down on Lace Heels From Venice to New York

Barbara Palvin continued her lace-covered pumps streak on Saturday, arriving to the U.S. Open alongside husband Dylan Sprouse in a pair of white Casadei heels.

Her pair, Casadei’s Julia Penny Liberty pumps, featured a white patent base with an all-over lace overlay. The pointed silhouette featured an 8-centimeter stiletto, fastened by a slim Mary Jane strap finished with the brand’s metallic C-chain logo. Retailing for $875, the style was introduced in the house’s fall 2025 collection.

Palvin paired the pumps with a ruffled white mini dress trimmed in lace, cut with a halter neckline and tiered skirt. A matching white shoulder bag kept the palette consistent. The monochrome palette carried through Sprouse’s look as well — he kept to dark trousers and a tailored shirt.

The outing marked her second lace pump moment in under two weeks. At the Venice Film Festival in August, she joined the slingback wave in Betsey Johnson’s Nikki pumps — a mesh style embroidered with lace and beadwork, cut on a modest three-inch heel.

Lace and mesh uppers have been a defining texture across designer footwear this season. Amal Clooney stepped into Prada’s brushed leather slingbacks with lace overlay in Venice, while Michelle Williams appeared in Saint Laurent’s glossy patent Dune pumps, finished with transparent inserts that offered a similar sheer effect.

Palvin has played with other summer shoe trends aside from lace. At Cannes in May, Palvin wore Miu Miu loafers with tailored shorts, a daytime contrast to her recent lace pumps. The throughline isn’t silhouette but surface — polished leather then, lace now.

The U.S, Open has become a reliable showcase for celebrity style, and Palvin’s Casadei pumps brought lace into this year’s mix. The tournament’s first weekend alone has seen sneakers, sandals and heels rotated courtside, positioning footwear as central to its off-court spotlight.
