The VMAs After-Party Looks Gave the Red Carpet a Run For Its Money

Last night, the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet was a bold fashion affair. Stars like Doja Cat did extreme 1980s glamour, while singers like Tate McRae embraced the naked dress. The performances during the ceremony were just as memorable: Lady Gaga performed in her best avant-garde Mother Monster outfit, while Sabrina Carpenter’s bejeweled ensemble paid homage to Britney Spears. The statement looks didn’t end when it came time for the after-parties, either. In fact, many stars saved their best outfits for last—dancing the night away in striking designs that were worthy of being on the step and repeat just a few hours prior.

Take Cardi B: While the rapper was missing-in-action at the actual VMAs, she still partook in after-party circuit, and showed up in a floor-length leopard print gown. Ditto for Rosalia, who appeared in a chainmail Rabanne frock exposing her white bra top and briefs.

Other stars chose to stick with the style theme they turned to for the carpet. Ice Spice—who wore a vintage Ralph Lauren corset on the VMAs carpet—chose a lilac corset for the after-party, and paired it with a mini floral-appliqué skirt. Tate McRae donned another sheer number, this time choosing a black bodysuit with sheer sleeves and tights.

Vanguard Award winner Mariah Carey, meanwhile, went the skin-tight route for her post-show celebrations, marking her honor while wearing a leather mini dress and matching coat. She also wore sequined stiletto Louboutin boots. (You will rarely catch the diva in a flat!)
