Diá de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, has become a fixture among Jordan Brand‘s annual slate of holiday-themed releases. A new Air Jordan 3 inspired by luchador masks has been known about for several weeks, and now an Air Jordan 1 Low with its own distinct flavor can be expected as well.
The Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos,” which translates to “we are eternal” in English, brings literal depth to the low-top. An inset Swoosh features a cobblestone-like texture with a pink and gray finish that appears well trodden-on. It’s lined with perforations for more dimensionality, and on the tongue, you’ll also find a pink leather tag with a debossed sun icon.
More pops of pink come through on the laces and outsole, and a shade of blue from within the same family of cotton candy is then used for the upper’s overlays. The underlays then appear in cream, while the outsole arrives in white. Metal ring eyelets appear as if they might be tinted rose-gold, and pink edges can also be made out on some of the overlays.
A black insole carries a graphic of a skull and flower, and text that’s not fully legible in the photos, and a special box carries the name of the colorway and a sticker of a smoking candle.
In addition to the two Air Jordans now confirmed, there are likely more Day of the Dead-themed sneakers coming from the broader Nike umbrella.
The Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” doesn’t yet have a firm release date but will likely drop before Nov. 1 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $135.
