Queen Latifah is the latest celebrity to embrace one of the season’s slinkiest shoe trends, opting for a pair of beige slingback pumps with a flared heel while out in New York City on Wednesday.

The pointed style featured a slim strap at the heel and a nude upper that sharpened the line of the foot. Its flared wineglass stiletto offered height with a sculpted edge, standing out as the detail that set the pair apart from standard pumps.

Neutral slingbacks have become a through line for celebrity shoe style this summer. Their minimal straps and pointed toes give them a barely there quality, even when styled with volume. Latifah’s pair slipped easily under wide, cuffed trousers, balancing the sweep of her charcoal suit.

Latifah is far from the only star who has relied on a neutral slingback to punctuate a sharp look. Kate Middleton chose Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon Sling pumps in nude suede, a pointed style set on an 85mm heel, for Wimbledon in July, a rewear that reinforced her Gianvito archive. At Tribeca Film Festival in June, Miley Cyrus paired ivory Paris Texas slingbacks with a crystal-covered Schiaparelli gown during the premiere of her visual album.

Just days earlier, Latifah leaned into fall textures at the U.S. Open with JW Anderson’s tassel mules, a black slip-on style finished with oversized fringe. She was photographed courtside during Coco Gauff’s second-round match, where her mules added a playful note against an all-white outfit. The shift from playful mules to pared-back slingbacks highlights the range in her late-summer rotation.
