As work-from-home culture goes the way of the dodo, Theory isn’t returning to standard officewear. “[Tailoring] is our bread and butter, but we’re wanting to take it out of the office setting and more into everyday life,” said Dushane Noble, the brand’s head of womenswear. This season, Noble sought to channel a sense of “undone elegance,” pointing to Elsa Peretti as a shining example. Slim trousers with extra-long legs created a puddling effect, and button-ups were made in a soft, washed twill to create a more lived-in look. “It’s got little textures to it that make it look a little less precious,” Noble said.

Theory’s spring 2026 offering also aimed to integrate into the everyday by creating incongruous pairings: preppy sweaters in a sporty sweatshirt material (a fabrication Noble borrowed from Theory’s menswear); satin fabrications taking office-friendly staples like trousers and jackets from 9 to 9.

While suiting is inextricable from Theory’s DNA, Noble is keen to make suiting for women, not just menswear that women can also partake in. Take the side slit in the nipped-waist blazers that allows the wearer to access their pockets with ease, or the ’90s-inspired trousers that flare out at the thigh rather than a more traditional knee break. “We’re also thinking about the shorter girl,” Noble said. “If you’re shorter and you hem it, you still get to participate in this silhouette.”

Theory is selling clothes for a post-hybrid world, and with his diverse take on wardrobe heroes, Noble is making a very strong case for his vision. Prepare to be the best-dressed woman in your return-to-office meeting.
