Building trenches after getting first-round WR

After taking Matthew Golden with the 23rd pick in the first round, the Green Bay Packers could attack the trenches or add to the cornerback room on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Let’s look at who the Packers got in my Day 2 mock draft:

54th overall: T.J. Sanders, DT, South Carolina

Sanders didn’t start playing football until his junior year of high school. He’s a twitched-up interior pass-rusher and has explosive power. He has active hands and has a powerful swipe. Over the past two seasons, he recorded 60 pressures and 8.5 sacks. He’s active and slippery against the run, recording 54 run stops over the past two seasons. The former basketball standout has good foot quickness and the lateral agility to shoot into gaps and disrupt the action in the backfield.

Unpacking Future Packers: DL T.J. Sanders

87th overall: Marcus Mbow, OL, Purdue

Mbow is cut from the Elgton Jenkins and Zach Tom cloth. He’s 6-4, 303 pounds with 32-inch arms and finished his career at Purdue with 20 starts at right guard and 12 at right tackle. During Senior Bowl practices he showcased his five-position versatility by taking reps at center. He’s a technician in pass protection. He plays with natural knee bend, playing low and in control. Everything syncs up. He has good range as a run blocker, showcasing nimble feet and exploding out of his stance to quickly get into his blocks. With his versatility and athleticism, Mbow would provide quality depth and could challenge for starting reps at right guard and would give the Packers flexibility on how to roll out their best five.
