Choctawhatchee, Atlantic debut on Florida Football Super 25 poll

  • IMG Academy remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Florida Network Super 25 for the fifth straight week.
  • The First Academy moved up to No. 6 after defeating Venice in Week 5.
  • Choctawhatchee and Atlantic made their debuts on the Super 25 list at No. 21 and No. 25, respectively.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas, Chaminade-Madonna, Miami Northwestern, and Miami Central complete the top five ranked teams.

Another week, another clean sweep for IMG Academy.

The Ascenders claimed all eight first-place votes in the USA Today Florida Network Super 25 for the fifth consecutive week.

Playing a Florida opponent for the first time since the preseason, IMG routed previously undefeated Mandarin 55-7 in Week 5. IMG jumped out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

St. Thomas Aquinas, Chaminade-Madonna, Miami Northwestern and Miami Central round out the top five. The FIrst Academy moves up to No. 6 after knocking off Venice on the road 21-14 in Week 5.

Choctawhatchee (No. 21) and Atlantic (No. 25) both make thier debut on the list. Choctaw, which dominated Niceville 42-7 in Week 5, already has three shutouts this season. Atlantic scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to beat Miami Norland 43-20 on Sept. 18.
