Just minutes after his backfield mate Quinshon Judkins was selected in the 2025 NFL draft, Ohio State game-breaking back TreVeyon Henderson was also selected. And while Judkins stayed in-state with the Cleveland Browns, Henderson will be headed out east to the winning culture of the New England Patriots.
Henderson had a fantastic freshman season after coming to the Buckeyes as the top running back in the country out of high school. He did not disappoint, going for over 1,000 yards rushing as a freshman. Injuries beset him a bit during his sophomore and junior seasons, but he had one whale of a senior season, splitting carries with Judkins. He again went over 1,000 yards and showed the burst and explosiveness that should translate well to the highest of levels in the NFL.
Not only can he tote the rock, but he can also catch the ball out of the backfield and is one of the best running backs in the draft at pass protection blocks and reads. In other words, he could easily be a three-down back, something that’s awfully appealing for teams. New England got itself a bargain at this point in the draft.
Ohio State has now seen six players selected already through the early picks of the second round. We’ll still see plenty more go, so we’ll continue to bring each and every pick that has a Scarlet and Gray hue as they happen.
