Next month, the Swedish footwear brand is set open its first U.S. flagship store at 501 Madison Avenue in New York City. The shop will join the brand’s other locations in London, Oslo and Stockholm.

Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the new store will showcase Myrqvist’s complete range of footwear and accessories as well as seasonal launches and exclusive in-store experiences.

The company also noted that the space will be designed to reflect its Scandinavian heritage, and will pair a contemporary, minimal aesthetic with refined detailing.

Sebastian Öhrn, founder and chief executive officer of Myrqvist, said in a statement that the opening in New York marks a major milestone for the brand.

“We started in Stockholm, expanded to London and Oslo, and now we’re proud to bring Scandinavian craftsmanship to one of the world’s most iconic cities,” Öhrn said. “New York has long inspired me in both style and pace, and it feels only natural to open our doors here.”

Since its start back in 2016, Myrqvist has established itself as a rising player in premium footwear, offering classic dress styles as well as sneakers and contemporary boots, all crafted in Portugal using European leathers and suedes.

The news comes one week after fellow Swedish footwear brand Morjas inked a wholesale partnership with Nordstrom. The deal marks the brand’s first physical presence in a U.S. retailer.

As part of the launch, Morjas now offers a curated assortment of its handmade shoes on Nordstrom.com and in four select Nordstrom locations nationwide, including the retailer’s flagship in NYC; Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Ill.; Tysons Corner in McLean, Va.; and Stanford shopping center in Palo Alto, Calif.

Morjas founder Henrik Berg noted that Nordstrom will carry an edited selection anchored in its cornerstone silhouettes, spanning boots, sneakers, lace-ups, and loafers. Within that, styles like the Penny Loafer, Ivy Loafer, and Oxfords will be key offerings at the retailer. Prices range from $290 to $500.
