Bucks Reveal Troubling Damian Lillard Injury Update After Loss on Sunday

It was a terrible day all around for the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. Apart from suffering a deflating 129-103 blowout loss at home against the Indiana Pacers in Game 4, the Bucks also lost superstar point guard Damian Lillard to what appears to be a season-ending injury.

Lillard fell to the floor in the first quarter, and he was seen grabbing his left foot. The nine-time All-Star immediately exited the game, and it did not take long before the Bucks announced that he would not be able to return.

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, it is feared that Lillard may have torn his Achilles.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers spoke to reporters after the game, and he provided an update on Lillard’s injury status. As expected, the 6-foot-2 point guard will undergo tests to determine the extent of the injury. Rivers, however, did not sound optimistic at all.

“They’re going to do an image tomorrow,” Rivers said, via Bucks beat reporter Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “Obviously it’s lower leg, and just being honest, it’s not very promising.”

Rivers seems to be preparing Bucks fans for what could be a massive blow not only for the playoffs, but for next season as well. A torn Achilles will very likely require Lillard to go under the knife, and the rehab process could cost him most, if not the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign, especially considering how he’s now 34.

The Bucks should provide an official update on Lillard’s injury once they get the test results, but at this point, fans have to be bracing for the worst.
