Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Chrome’ 2026 Release Date 305381-003

A fan-favorite non-original Air Jordan colorway is reportedly set to return in 2026 after an 11-year hiatus.

For the third time ever, the Air Jordan 8 Retro “Chrome” is set to return next year. The news comes courtesy of Sneaker Files and @zsneakerheadz, who also shared news of other upcoming styles including the Air Jordan 9 Retro “Space Jam” and the “Black/Chrome” Air Jordan 17 Low, the latter of which will reportedly return with a patent leather finish.

As for the Air Jordan 8 Retro Chrome, the style was originally released in 2003 and was the first non-original Air Jordan 8 style to arrive at retail. Using the black nubuck base seen on 1990s looks including the black/red Playoffs and the Aqua colorway, the early 2000s Chrome look deviated from the colorful accents seen on those styles.

Instead, its abstract paint stroke pattern was filled in black, white and gray, while the remainder of the midsole was given a glittery silver appearance. However, the grayscale colorway’s defining accent came on the buckles of the shoe’s midfoot support strap, which were colored in a shiny chrome. This style of chrome-accented color design was popular at Jordan Brand during this era, as a similar look was featured on a 2002 Air Jordan 6 Retro Low.

With its high-top, nearly boot-like build, the Air Jordan 8 has been a popular lifestyle model in the 30-plus years since its debut. And yet, despite its rugged construction, Jordan Brand has never experimented with a winterized version of the model like it has the Air Jordan 9 Boot.

After its first appearance in ’03, the Air Jordan 8 Retro Chrome received its first-ever reissue in 2015. Now, over a decade later, the style will return once more during fall ’26. A style code for the upcoming pair has not been confirmed, however the ’15 iteration had a Sku of 305381-003. The pair is expected to be priced at $215 when it arrives on Nike’s Snkrs app and at select Jordan Brand retailers. In-hand images of the ’26 version aren’t yet available, but the ’15 pair is pictured below courtesy of GOAT.
