Fashionphile Enters U.K. and Europe with Luxe Collective Acquisition

PARIS – U.S.-based Fashionphile has acquired Luxe Collective, marking its official entry into the U.K. and European markets.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, it includes Luxe Collective’s intellectual property, customer data and social media accounts.

The move represents a strategic leap for Fashionphile, which already has a strong online and physical store presence in the U.S.

With flagships in New York, Los Angeles, and San Diego, and a strategic partnership with Neiman Marcus, the brand has established itself as a major resale omnichannel player of high-end handbags. Fashionphile offers authenticated, pre-owned luxury goods from brands such as Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

The acquisition of the Liverpool-based Luxe Collective now puts Europe in its sights.

Fashionphile U.K. launched Tuesday under the domain of Luxe Collective as a temporary step. The company also announced plans to open a London flagship store, accompanied by an authentication center, in 2026. The flagship will include international offices, a warehouse, event space and content studio.

“This acquisition allows us to combine Luxe Collective’s cultural relevance and strong community with Fashionphile’s scale, technology, and authentication expertise,” said Fashionphile co-founder and chief executive officer Ben Hemminger.

Founded in 2018 by brothers Ben and Joe Gallagher, Luxe Collective became a player in the U.K. resale space, driven by its Gen Z and millennial following on social media.

“The U.K. has a rich history of luxury resale, but no one is doing it our way at real scale. Together with Ben and Joe Gallagher, we intend to change that,” added Hemminger.

A wrench was thrown into Luxe Collective’s growth mid-2024 when a burglary at a warehouse resulted in the loss of 500,000 pounds of inventory. The theft dealt a significant operational and financial blow and the company shuttered operations in mid-2025.

“Luxe Collective has always been about more than resale. Ben and Joe have built a real community that connects with luxury in a fresh and authentic way. The hardships they faced last year were heartbreaking not only for Joe and Ben, but also their entire community,” said Fashionphile founder and president Sarah Davis.

“We could not be more thrilled to help bring a breath of life back into the essence of what Ben & Joe Gallagher started. This is about preserving their voice and giving it the resources to thrive on an international stage,” she added.

As part of the acquisition, both Gallagher brothers will join Fashionphile U.K.’s leadership team. Joe Gallagher will serve as director of operations, while Ben Gallagher will step into the role of director of brand marketing.

Luxe Collective’s social channels, including 1.6 million followers on TikTok, will be rebranded as Fashionphile Collective.

“Fashionphile shares our vision for what luxury resale in the U.K. can become. With their technology, scale and support, we can now realize that vision on a much larger scale,” said Joe Gallagher.

“From day one, Luxe Collective has been about building community and creating a conversation around luxury that feels inclusive and exciting,” added Ben Gallagher. “With Fashionphile, we now have the chance to bring that spirit to a global audience while staying true to the values that made our community so loyal from the start.”

Fashionphile plans to offer its signature direct-buyout model to U.K. consumers, allowing customers to sell their luxury accessories and get paid upfront, in contrast to the consignment models common among European competitors.

The acquisition follows a series of strategic moves that have expanded Fashionphile’s footprint in both retail and wholesale channels. In late 2023, the company acquired Canadian recommerce brand LXRandCo, and in 2024, it purchased Montreal-based distributor Two Authenticators Inc., onboarding industry veteran Fred Mannella to lead its growing wholesale division.

These moves have fortified Fashionphile’s position as a global player in luxury resale, and with the acquisition of Luxe Collective, its omnichannel operations will now stretch across North America and Europe.

As the luxury resale market continues to grow, with BCG estimating the global market will be worth $360 billion by 2030, Fashionphile’s foothold in the U.K. will position it to compete in Europe.

The company opened a 7,000-square-foot flagship in Los Angeles on Oct. 8, which includes authentication services, shipping and receiving, warehousing, a full-scale photo studio, as well as a secure, climate-controlled vault to store luxury handbags and accessories.

In addition to its flagships, Fashionphile has retail locations in Scottsdale, Az., Newport Beach, Ca., Irvine, Ca., San Francisco, Ca., Austin, Tx. and Philadelphia, Pa.
