LVMH Widens Romain Spitzer’s Purview for Fragrances

PARIS – Romain Spitzer’s mandate has been broadened at Fragrance Group LVMH Beauty, where he has been appointed president and chief executive officer.

Spitzer in March 2024 had already had his mandate expanded to oversee new ventures for the division, on top of serving as CEO of LVMH Fragrance Brands, leading Parfums Givenchy and Kenzo Parfums.

In the new position, Spitzer will continue to lead LVMH Fragrance Brands as CEO while also taking on oversight of the Fragrance Group LVMH Beauty. That includes Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Acqua di Parma, Loewe Perfumes and Officine Universelle Buly 1803.

Other multinationals, such as L’Oréal, have instigated fragrance-specific transversal positions, as the perfume category – especially its niche segment – leads beauty’s growth.

“[Romain Spitzer] will focus on fostering synergies in go-to-markets, operational execution, manufacturing and people development, all while respecting each maison’s strategic and creative autonomy and promoting agile, transversal cooperation,” LVMH Fragrance Brands said in a LinkedIn post.

“Romain’s expanded role, building on his impressive 30-plus years of experience in beauty, reflects both his strong leadership and the strategic importance of levering synergies across our fragrance brands portfolio,” said Stéphane Rinderknech, chairman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s Perfumes and Cosmetics division, in the statement. “His deep understanding of the market, consumer trends and brands, honed over decades, will be invaluable as he guides the Fragrance Group to continued success.”

LVMH’s Perfumes and Cosmetics division in the first nine months of this year reported sales of 6.04 billion euros, down 8 percent in reported terms and 6 percent on a like-for-like basis versus the same prior-year period.
