After close call, Texas Football drops one spot in US LBM Coaches Poll

Texas may have won Saturday night in Lexington, but it wasn’t pretty, especially on offense. And the lackluster performance hasn’t gone unpunished. After narrowly holding off Kentucky 16-13 in overtime, the Longhorns have dropped one spot in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll. UT fell from No. 17 to No. 18 this week.

The Longhorns offense was historically bad last night. While plenty of blame should be heaped on Arch Manning, the offensive line and running game were both terrible against the Wildcats.

Ohio State remains No. 1 in the country. The Buckeyes are followed No. 2 Indiana, also from the Big Ten. Former No. 2 Miami fell seven spots after losing to Louisville this week.

The Texas A&M Aggies are all the way up to No. 3, followed by Alabama and Georgia to round out the top five.

Oregon, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, the Canes and BYU fill in the rest of the top ten.

Other rankings of note include Oklahoma at No. 11 after a big win at South Carolina, Texas Tech down to No. 15 after getting burned by Arizona State and LSU down nine spots to No. 20.

There are 10 ranked SEC teams, five ranked Big Ten squads, four Big 12 and four ACC.
