Nike confirmed in July that its Air Foamposite Pro sneaker would return in the fan-favorite Pine Green colorway this holiday season and now, the release is just mere weeks away.

Set to arrive at retail in December, the 2025 Air Foamposite Pro Pine Green marks just the second-ever time the style has been released. While it would have fit in well among the shoe’s original colorways from 1999, the color-shifting look made its debut in 2011 during the peak of the 2010s Foamposite trend. 

With a Pine Green/Black color combination, the shoe’s tongue, eyelets, laces and heel are constructed in Foamposite-staple black mesh and nubuck. Pine green detailing is found on the Swoosh and tongue striping, but it’s the shoe’s metallic Foamposite shell that really steals the show.

Simply describing the upper as “Pine Green” is something of an undersell, as the iridescent finish shifts between various shades of green, gold and purple depending on how the light hits it. This unique appearance is a big factor of what made the original ’11 release so popular, and it was revisited with a twist on 2012’s Gym Green style.

While they may not have the same level of fanfare as they did in the 2010s, Foamposites have been experiencing a resurgence in recent years. Nike has reissued some of the model’s most desirable colorways including the ’12 “Galaxy” for NBA All-Star Weekend, and the brand has also invested in new collaborations with the likes of video game franchise Tekken. Beyond the Beaveron, Ore.-based company, traces of Foamposites have popped up elsewhere including on Balenciaga’s $1,550 Basketball Sneaker.

Back to the Pine Green pair, it’s locked in for a Dec. 19 release through Nike’s Snkrs app and select Nike Sportswear retailers. Pricing is set at $240 and the style code is HF0794-300.
