End-of-year student fashion shows are always a particularly exciting time for graduating designers. At Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, students had more reason to celebrate thanks to the comeback of its in-person runway.
In 2019, Jefferson replaced the runway event with a fashion film, due to Covid regulations, and had upheld that format since. Now, it’s ready to compete again within the fashion landscape: On April 23, the university celebrated its 2025 Fashion Design Show, highlighting the work of 18 seniors. (In the past, select sophomores and juniors also participated, but now, it’s a graduate-only affair.)

Each participating designer created up to four looks, displaying their work among a crowd of family, friends, faculty and industry professionals. Inspiration ranged from military wear to sustainability to art to spirituality.
In addition to the runway, the event honored two alumni: Jorge Luis Salinas, ’94, received the Spirit of Design Award and Alicia Pinckney, ’13, earned the Fashion Design Alumni Award.
