Leif
Brick & mortar: 319 Graham Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211
E-commerce: leifshop.com
Social media: Instagram

What: A multi-brand lifestyle boutique (with e-commerce) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn offering a curated selection of women’s clothing, accessories and jewelry as well as homewares.

Owner: Stacy Longenecker

Origin Story: Leif was ahead of the curve when it comes to the modern independent lifestyle boutique space — before Instagram, before curated retail became the norm. When Stacy Longenecker launched the store in 2011 online, there wasn’t much else like it. She carefully curated a selection that felt refreshing, exciting, and accessible, at a time when finding independent brands and unique wares online was not as commonplace as it is now.

The selection takes a very deliberate, unpretentious point of view that sets Leif apart from other retailers: The clothes you’ll find there aren’t necessarily chosen because of their brand name or cool factor, but because they tell a bigger story overall in the context of Leif’s unique aesthetic and approach.
