Taraji P. Henson delivered a sculptural moment on Monday at the Netflix STRAW Tastemaker Dinner, hosted at Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi in New York City. The Emmy-winning actress arrived in a slate-hued, asymmetrical jumpsuit punctuated by plush accents, completing the look with lace-up Alexandre Birman sandals.

For the occasion, Henson opted for the Zaya 100 heeled sandal in dark brown. Crafted from soft nappa leather, it featured an intricate lace-up ankle wrap and a leaf-pointed toe. The standout detail of the shoe — a cluster of wooden, gold and bronze beads, accented with silver studs across the toe strap – is a nod to Birman’s Brazilian heritage, where artisanal craftsmanship and cultural influences inspire his aesthetic.

Henson’s crepe jumpsuit featured a single off-shoulder neckline and a belted, cinched waist. The straight-leg trousers stopped just above the ankle, letting the sandals take the stage. Black feather plumes at each cuff extended past the wrists, introducing movement against the garment’s clean lines. The look was tailored by celebrity stylist Wayman + Micah, frequent collaborators on Henson’s red carpet appearances.

Henson styled her shoulder-length hair in a blond-highlighted bob with a side swept wave. Gold drop earrings echoed the warm tones of the sandals’ beadwork, and she kept her makeup neutral, opting for matte shades with contoured cheeks and a soft lip.
