A fresh wave of emerging talent vying to be the next big thing in fashion offers a much-needed break from the industry’s ongoing game of creative director musical chairs. On Wednesday, the LVMH Prize announced the eight finalists for its 2025 competition, narrowed down from its list of 20 semifinalists.

“On the occasion of the 12th edition of the LVMH Prize, the collections of the semi-finalists highlighted a rich diversity of backgrounds and creative visions,” Delphine Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture, said in a press statement. “They each displayed an inspiring level of expertise in tailoring, craftsmanship, as well as great refinement, and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them all.”

The finalists include Alain Paul (France), Benjamin Barron (U.S.A) and Bror August Vestbo (Norway) of All-In, Francesco Murano (Italy), Soshi Otsuki (Japan), Steve O Smith (United Kingdom), Tolu Coker (United Kingdom), Torishéju Dumi of Torishéju (United Kingdom) and Danial Aitouganov of Zomer (Netherlands).

On Sept. 3, at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, these designers will present their collections to a jury of industry leaders. The LVMH Prize winner will receive a €400,000 endowment and mentorship from LVMH teams. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize and the Savoir-Faire Prize will also be awarded, with each recipient receiving a €200,000 allocation plus one year of mentorship from LVMH experts.

Past winners include Hodakova, Jacquemus, Marine Serre, Rokh and Wales Bonner.
