Once summertime hits, I always face a footwear predicament. As someone who does a lot of walking, I need shoes that can provide comfort for long stretches of steps, while also keeping my feet cool and aired out during the hotter New York City days.

I also tend to avoid open-toed shoes, making it tough to find a sandal that conceals and protects while still looking on-trend and true to my style.

I have finally resolved this dilemma with the Loeffler Randall Rhys Champagne Glitter Jelly Sandals. The brand very generously gifted me these, so I posted them on my Instagram story to say thank you. To my surprise, I got several DMs from people telling me how much they wanted a pair of their own, seeming to indicate that this style may in fact be the shoe of the summer.

The transparent, apricot-colored glitter jelly material makes the shoes lightweight and wearable for a full day of strolling (I haven’t gotten a single blister). And the color is subtle enough that it almost passes as neutral (if you consider glitter a neutral, like me). Plus, the rhinestones add a fun bejeweled element.

When you see me wearing these every day this summer, now you’ll know exactly why.
