Kehlani decided on a nude-illusion style statement while attending the 2025 American Music Awards. The singer touched down in Las Vegas to attend the event. She is nominated for Favorite Female R&B Artist. She is matched up against SZA, Tyla, Muni Long and Summer Walker.

The performer was styled by Chantelle Thach, who also styles the likes of Kali Uchis.

Kehlani wore a nude-illusion Do Long’s halter mini-dress. The sheer piece included shimmering fabric, draped strategically over her body, arranged like snaking water. Do Long has notably done dresses for SZA and Meagan Good in the past.

For shoes, Kehlani wore a pair of Aquazurra “Tequila” sandals. The shoe is a strapy style with multiple intersecting leather straps. These straps are studded with crystal embellishments. This leaves a majority of the foot exposed in addition to the open toe.

The back of the sandal has a slingback-like strap and an ankle strap. There is also a small buckle on the ankle strap. This is all set on a four inch stiletto. The sole includes a gold pineapple, which is the Aquazzura logo.

The company has offered a mini and maxi version of the “Tequila” sandal with crystals of varying sizes. It’s also available in multiple heights. The shoe has been worn by Blake Lively, Nicky Hilton, Tyla, Rita Ora and Sarah Jessica Parker amongst others.

The American Music Awards is an annual ceremony honoring outstanding achievements in music. The 2025 event is taking place at the Fountainebleu Las Vegas on May 26 and will be broadcast on CBS. Jennifer Lopez is the night’s host. Janet Jackson will be honored with the Icon Award while Rod Stewart will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Benson Boone, Gwen Stefani and Renee Rapp will all perform.
